Reporting a bug (with workaround)
Just bought a 2025 Razer Blade 18 RTX 5090 laptop.
I followed my normal setup, including setting Windows "Power Mode" to "Best Performance" before running some benchmarks.
GPU performance was awful doing that. 3DMark benchmarks were just *below* the 2024 RB18 with RTX 4090 due to insane throttling behavior.
But, leaving Windows "Power Mode" to "Balanced" fixes this entirely. GPU performance popped to 22% better than the 4090 in the 2024 RB18. CPU was not affected either way, though for the record it looks to be 30% faster in the 2025 RB18. Together, those are some beastly laptop numbers (at least in benchmarks)
So, this “Power Mode” behavior is a bug somewhere Razer might want to address. Maybe it is in Windows or the Nvidia driver, but it should be fixed.
