7.1 Doesn't work anymore

I bought the Razer Barracuda X model about a month ago and I haven't had any problems until today, but when I turned on the computer today, I saw that there was no 7.1 output in the Windows sound output section. When I opened the Razer app, there was an exclamation mark next to my headset. I tried restarting the device, deleting and installing the 7.1 app, and plugging the USB dongle into a different USB, but the problem did not go away. Please help

Hi kaganakd.,

I undertand that the 7.1 Surround Sound suddenly stopped working. Were there any changes made to your system/ device before the issue? Did you receive and install any Windows update recently? To further isolate the problem, plase try the troubleshooting steps below:

  1. Ensure that the USB dongle is securely connected to the computer. If possible, try connecting it to a USB port directly on the motherboard rather than through a hub.
  2. Make sure to update your Windows audio drivers. You can do this by going to Device Manager, finding your audio devices, right-clicking, and selecting "Update driver.”
  3. Since you mentioned you tried reinstalling it, ensure that you completely uninstall it first, then restart your computer before reinstalling. This can help clear any corrupted files.

  4. Ensure "Speakers (7.1 Surround Sound)" is selected as the default output device in the Windows Sound settings. Follow the steps here.

  5. If possible, try connecting the headset to another computer to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the headset or your computer.

Feel free to send me a PM if you need further assistance. All the best!
