7.1 Surround software no longer working | Razer Insider

Hi all

I'll try and make this straight forward. I purchased a Razer Kraken x lite roughly 6 months ago, installed the 7.1 surround software provided online, activated the code, registered the hardware and it was working as intended. Initially I purchased this headset as a backup and because it was on special. So everything was working ok and I decided to shelf the headset but leave all the software on the HD for later use.

Fast forward to about three days ago, when my Plantronics/poly Rig 500 is no longer working (Rip). I simply plugged in the Kraken and tried to change my settings to the surround 7.1 option, which had previously been installed. Now for some reason, no sound with this option but it was working fine with Dolby atmos and stereo settings, to add to this and my main issue here, is that the Razer 7.1 software for surround sound is no longer working. I can double click the icon, it looks like it wants to start but then shuts down automatically, with the icon appearing then quickly dissapearing from the bottom right task bar.

As several forums have suggested, I have uninstalled, reinstalled, started with admin priveleges, turn off then on, firewall and windows security options etc etc, all of the obvious fixes.

Just to clarify, the headset works fine on my other PC, along with the 7.1 surround software but I just can't see what would be making the software not start on main pc.

I've added a link here to a video of what seems to be happening. I'm somewhat clueless when it comes to hunting down software incompatibilities or if another program I have is causing the issue. Maybe another set of eyes would help.

I have also added a ticket to support, so we'll see what happens.
Check if .net 4.8 is installed, if not install it, also check for Microsoft Visual C++ - if it's available - uninstall it then reboot PC and try 7.1 surround app.

Still no luck there. Managed to uninstall whatever Visual C++ packages I had, reboot and check but still nothing. Went about reinstalling those packages as they were needed by some of the programs I have.

Net 4.8 is also installed.

Please PM me the serial number of your headset so I can validate its model and start a case to raise your concern to the Software Team.
