7.1 Surround Sound App won't give option to select output device

I have recently bought Razor Barracuda X and downloaded the surround sound app. I log in and the app just minimises to the task bar. There is no window to select audio device or enter activation code. I can log in, log out, that is all. The surround sound option is in my sound devices list in windows, but no sound is audible when selected. Opening the surround sound app subsequently doesn't open any dialogs just minimises to tray immediately.
