8k 4k 2k on DeathAdder V3 work for a while but fall back to random polling rates

Greetings,

I've seen several user reports about this issue, and unfortunately, it still hasn’t been resolved  at least not in my case.

Issue:

When I start the PC, the mouse (configured via Synapse 4) correctly applies the selected high polling rate for example, 4000Hz or 8000Hz.

However, at some point during regular usage, Windows or some system-level event  or a power saving feature appears to interfere with the mouse driver.

This causes the polling rate to fall back to lower random values (e.g., 125Hz, 250Hz, or 500Hz).

Triggers that appear to cause this :

  • Opening certain applications (games, browsers, etc.)

  • Power saving features

  • General driver handling by Windows

Tested this on W10 and W11 clean installs:

Windows 11: When the polling rate drops, I can open Synapse and manually reapply 4000Hz, and it will work again but only temporarily.

Eventually, the polling rate reverts once more  with prolonged use.

Windows 10: The issue is more severe. Once the polling rate drops (e.g., from 4000Hz to a lower rate),

I open Synapse and set it back, but the maximum polling rate that takes effect is 1000Hz even if I select 2000Hz 4000Hz or 8000Hz.

The only way to fully restore the proper polling rate is to physically unplug and reconnect the mouse.

This was a  temporary workaround that I have found that unplugging and replugging the mouse restores the configured polling rate, but this fix only lasts until Windows or another application "interferes" the driver again.

Suggestion:

If possible, it would be extremely helpful if Synapse 4 could actively enforce the selected polling rate while it is running  especially after Windows causes a driver reload or power event.

This would help avoid  this inconsistent behavior.

For reference, I have tested this across both Windows 10 and Windows 11, using Synapse 4 you need prolonged use and something to trigger this.

The issue occurs on both systems, though it seems slightly less frequent on Windows 11 and easier to fix just by setting it back to the desired polling rate value in Synapse, on Windows 10 you’re stuck with 1000hz unless you repplug the mouse-.

This, in my opinion is an extremely important issue, because many users don’t even know Windows might be changing their polling rate, many users don’t even disable power saving features and Windows has so many which might be the cause of the problem.

Hope I have described everything the best way possible.

Forgot to mention, the reason I noticed the polling rates were not being correctly applied was after feeling something was different on the mouse “aim” movement and response and by curiosity used external software and  web tools to measure the polling rate.
