I'm the proud owner of the new Blade 16 (2024 model). Great looking machine.

 

However on the website it's noted that it supports 96Gb of memory. So I purchased a 96Gb Crucial kit CT2K48G56C4685]. However once I place the modules, the machine refuses to turn on. The power light keeps blinking (slowly) (I think green but a bit colorblind so could be another color).

 

Do you know if this kit is compatible? If it's not, do you know of any 96Gb kit (or 48Gb modules) that are compatible?

So a friend of mine suggested “try out a single module first”, so did this. And the same problem popped up, but I thought “let it stay on for a while”. And after 30-60 seconds it turned on.  So I then tried both modules again and it took over 1 minute and 30 seconds for the boot screen to show. But now I'm running 96Gb (using the above kit). 

 

Rest assure, the 2nd boot (from complete shutdown) took less than 15 seconds from button to windows loaded.

 

Considering it took nearly 2 minutes to boot (with no sign of life other than a blinking light), it's not weird that I assumed it wouldn't work. But it did, so I'm happy.
