I have almost the same issue, after I tried to reconnect my dongle to the type-c port on my rig it doesn't recognize it anymore, I tried plugging it into my laptop, but it still didn't recognize it, pulled it out, and let it rest, and on the next day I tried it again it works on the laptop, then tried on the rig it doesn't work again, have tried reinstalling the drivers and unplug/plug it again still doesn't work, after I pulled it out one last time I notice it is kinda warm.

So I tested a little theory, tried placing it on the A/C vent just for 5 minutes, and tried plugging it again into my rig it works again, so the dongle itself should have a vent or something to release the heat, it overheats in the long run, I'm on the point putting some holes on the dongle LOL.

So we should unplug it after use to let it cool off, so the next time we boot up the system, when on the startup screen that's where you should plug it in.

I have a Barracuda X, which I bought around mid-2022. It worked fine with no connection issues until January 1st, 2025 (they even had to make it happen during New Year, lol). I was playing until 4 AM, but when I opened my PC again around 1 PM, there was no audio.

I use the dongle, so I checked the drivers and did a hard reset on my PC, thinking the issue might be with the system, but no luck. I tested the dongle on my phone, and it worked perfectly. When I used wired USB, my PC detected the Barracuda as an "unspecified" device. I know my headset has no problems since it connects when using the dongle because of the sound prompt, but the problem is that my PC isn't showing the "Razer Barracuda X" in the sound settings. I couldn't do any firmware update because the Razer product couldn't be detected at all.

I contacted the Microsoft team and let them control my PC to look for the issue, but they couldn't identify the problem. They suggested I either contact the product's tech team or MSI (since I have an MSI motherboard). I reached out to Razer first, of course, but they only asked for my receipt for warranty verification. Unfortunately, my warranty had already expired, as it only lasted for two years.

Now, I'm unsure what to do. Should I change my USB-C cable, or should I continue using the jack (which I'm using right now, and the audio quality is terrible).

Razer should really help us with this since many of us are experiencing the same issue.

Guys, I think I've done it.

I had the same exact issue with the 0380 dongle. Headphones not pairing, dongle was not reconized while connected... I've done a bit of research, ordered a integrated circuit for replacement and resoldered it on the pcb of the dongle aaaaaaaand...IT WORKS, my headset is now working wireless again!

(defective IC on my finger for sizing purpose :)) )

Bro, pls, say the name of this pcb🙏🙏🙏

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SOLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found a solution! It's simple: go to a workshop or use a soldering hair dryer and just warm up the board. It appears that the solder under the components on the board is loosening due to overheating. This is the only thing that helped me. I did this in the oven at +- 250-280 C for 10 minutes.

Feb. 21 / 2025..  If your headset is having troubles connecting like mine:

  • It worked for months then no longer could connect and windows 10 told me the USB dongle is unrecognizable, but after a pc restart the headset would reconnect, but only for so many hours.

Try these steps.

  1. Make sure the dongle adapter is in a 2.0 USB port (I don’t have a C-port for my pc so if you do us it, but this helped me so its worth noting)
  2. Click on this link
    https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5994/~/how-to-use-the-razer-headset-pairing-utility
  3. Check the list of compatible headsets if yours is listed then continue on to the next step.
  4. Download the latest version of the Pairing Utility software.
  5. Follow the rest of the steps found in that software you just downloaded.
  6. After following the steps and your headset connects, but you hear nothing try turning it off then back on, that is what I did and it fixed it.

I hope this helped!
