Battery Issues

I use my Stealth for work and since i am doing more remote work, i use it quite a bit each day. i am now concerned that the battery is starting to swell. It will not click shut anymore, the pad will not work like it should and the pad gets a bit warm. Since this is my lively hood, I am very concerned that 1). I'll lose my data, and 2. it will create a fire, whether I am around or not. I have used this computer for the past few years and really cannot afford to be without one. Interested in your comments. thank you,
