BIOS update breaks Secure Boot

Hello!

A new BIOS update (1.08_v3) has just completely broken Secure Boot on my Blade 14 (2021).

Because Razer has locked the options to reset keys in the setup menu, there is zero manual workaround. It's a major mess-up, and I'm stuck with Secure Boot disabled until they release an immediate fix. There's also no comment or warning about this on the download page. If you own a similar model, I highly recommend you do not update until this is resolved.

It's beyond frustrating. Is anyone else having the same issue?

Hi,

I have the same issue on my Blade Advanced. It started a few days ago, however i did not touch my bios. I have seen other recent posts about the same issue in the past few days, though found no solution.

Have you found anything?

Im also having the same issue on my Razer Blade 17 RZ09-0368B

I'm experiencing the exact same issue on my Razer Blade 14 2021. Really hope Razer release a fix immediately.

We need updates from staff on these BIOS issues

Exactly the same thing on my Razer Blade Basic 15” from 2020, no recent BIOS update but the CMOS. battery had died. I’ve replaced it but still get the same thing. There is no option to "Install Default Secure Boot keys" or "Load Factory Default keys" as you might find on other systems, doing a full reset to default doesn’t help either.

I’m having this same issue as well, I have the Blade 15 base model from early 2020. It started around 3 days ago, I didn’t update or alter my bios at all before then though.

Same issue here on Blade 15 model 2020, laptop locked up after a restart. Must keep secure boot disabled until further notice :(

There are several other recent threads, for example

https://insider.razer.com/razer-support-45/secure-boot-violation-error-for-razer-blade-14-2021-amd-version-3060-86569?tid=86569&fid=45

but they are just getting locked as soon as someone from Razer replies, so they are presumably under the impression that it is isolated to a few individuals.

Hopefully they see this thread….

I am experiencing the same issue after updating my BIOS.  Needed to disable Secure Boot until Razer offers a way of restoring the Secure Boot key database in the firmware on my Razer Blade Pro 17 (RZ09-02202E75).  Specifically, either:

  1.  A BIOS/firmware recovery image that resets Secure Boot keys or
  1.  A procedure to reinstall the required Secure Boot key set into UEFI.

Thanks Razer.
