Black screen on startup Blade 14 2022

Please help! I closed the laptop as normal but now even though I power on and off or close and open or hold the power for 15 seconds, I just get a  black screen. BUT I have a power LED and keyboard LED lights are working.

It sounds like everything is still running too- the fans are running. I've restarted many many times and nothing.

It is a Blade 14 2022 and I have done the recent bios updates about a month ago.

I really need this laptop and I don't know what to do!

Hi @odsterman42,

You can follow the steps here:https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5586/~/how-to-fix-a-razer-blade-that-displays-a-blank-or-black-screen for further isolation. Otherwise, PM me the serial number so I can verify its model and kickstart a support ticket for a repair request. Thanks!

The response to my support ticket about this issue was exactly that list. Unfortunately if you can’t turn your laptop on it is impossible to do any of these actions, so not that useful. I had already specified that all the answers to those suggestions in my original ticket, except reseating the RAM which I was not going to do for a clear graphics issue.

After trying to power on (10 and 15 seconds) > 20 times I left the laptop for 48 hours and then turned it on again. By luck, It booted up but now regularly doesn’t come back after closing the screen so I have to shutdown each time. I have noted the HDMI port seems dodgy as any external monitor goes black if the port is bumped.

Any suggestions which are not “just turn off hibernate forever” would be welcome. I have done all upgrades and updates in your lists.

Hello,

That’s a bit late (9 months later) but i might have found a solution to a similar problem if that can help you or other people.

My Razer Blade 14 (2022) wasn’t turning on suddently, after really normal usage. The green LED was blinking like it was asleep but it was impossible to get it turned on.

We’ve tried to follow the razer support guidance, even to disconnect the battery and other component but nothing worked.

I’ve noticed, sometimes, when i was placing my iphone next to the trackpad (on the right part), the laptop was going completely black screen (when he was workin). So i’ve supposed there was some magnets things that the iphone was interfering with. There are problably magnets within the laptop to detect when the screen was shut or not in order to activate the sleep mode.

We think it might have a problem with the magnets, maybe there are not placed well after some use and movements (probably due to a not very well built construction of the laptop itself), so the laptop think the screen is shut even if it’s not. We’ve decided to place a magnet on the right hand side corner’s laptop (next to the green led), and  we moved it a little bit in order to move the stuff within the laptop.

I’m not sure the problem came from that part, but then the laptop was re working normally. Maybe have a try ? It’s a cheap way to figure out if that’s the problem or not.

Hope it’ll help

Hope my english’s understandable.

Au revoir

I cannot upvote this enough!!!! I have a Magnus Secretlabs desk, which it has a magnetic desk pad on top. I am 100% sure this is what is messing up the black screen issue. If I reboot with the laptop in my hand it comes on!!! With it on the desk it sometimes doesn’t it is utter madness I know!

I am pretty sure there is a magnetic issue in the laptop.

Thanks
