Blackshark V2 Mic Help | Razer Insider

Hi there,

I've been enjoying the audio quality in this thing! Very nice stuff! The only gripe I have so far, the microphone without the USB sound card sounds better without it. When using the "mic monitoring sidetone" option, you can literally hear the raw mic input. How come I can't just set it for that? The EQs and such aren't really doing much, and the mic coming in raw actually sounds great!

Too long didn't read:

Do I have to use the USB sound-card to get the surround sound 7.1 goodness?

Is there a way to use the USB sound-card, but use a pass-through to just get the raw mic input?

I'm not a sound sorta person so forgive me. I'll explain if I have to!

Hi there! Thanks for posting your Razer Blackshark V2 experience here. And yes, the headset's 7.1 feature can be utilized by using the USB sound card. The headset can be used as a 3.5mm device. However, without the USB sound card, Razer Synapse can't detect the headset and customize its sound properties which include the mic monitoring sidetone feature.
