Blackshark V2 Pro (Not 2023) Equalizer Not Applying | Razer Insider

I’ve had my Blackshark V2 Pros for at least two years now but all of a sudden my equalizer on Synapse 3 has stopped working. I’m on Windows 10.

It’s odd because I was tweaking it literally just the other day and changing the equalizer settings has 0 effect on the sound quality now. I can still change the volume of the headset from Synapse which is responsive but changing the sliders for the equalizer doesn’t work, changing the bass boost doesn’t work, THX audio doesn’t work (I don’t use this feature anyways), sound normalization doesn’t work, and voice clarity doesn’t work. The buttons and sliders are all useable but they don’t change the sound quality.

I’ve looked through the forums and have seen many Windows 11 fixes with changing “Audio Enhancements” settings but doing the same on Windows 10 hasn’t really worked for me in the advanced properties of the headset. I’ve clean installed Synapse multiple times. I’ve used the driver cleanup tool which, thankfully removed  many unused drivers over the years I suppose, but did not change the outcome. Not really sure what to do now because all the forums I look at are quite repetitive. I also cleaned out the registry. Any help? I’ve become awfully used to my equalizer settings and this is pretty irritating.

I just bought Razer Blackshark V2 Pro and when I installed Synapse 3 on my computer, I noticed that the equalizer had no effect. No matter what setting I make, nothing changes. I upgraded my computer from Windows 10 to Windows 11, but nothing changed. I installed Synapse 3 on my sister's laptop and tried it, it was working on her computer. I read all the forums, but there is nothing significant. I think it is a chronic problem in blackshark v2 pro. I hope Razer officials see it soon and fix it soon. because with these equalizer settings the headphone turns into garbage

Hello! I resolved this issue. I recently updated my bios on my MSI MPG X570 motherboard to the newest version. This is also when the problem began. I reverted my bios to the second newest version. This did not fix the issue outright. I uninstalled all of my audio drivers, Razer Synapse, and used the Razer Driver Cleanup Tool. Multiple restarts throughout this process. I also did a /sfc scannow in command line somewhere in there. Installed Razer Synapse 3. Worked.

Pretty complicated process I guess?
