I’ve just bought my Razer Blackshark V2 X, I connected it through my 3.5 jack port of my laptop and I don’t see my microphone, I see no changes on my microphone and most important; the mic switch doesn’t work. What to do?

Hi jonasbaturalp,
I’m sorry to hear about the issues with your Razer Blackshark V2 X microphone not being recognized or the mic switch not working when connected to the 3.5mm jack port of your laptop. Does your microphone work when plugged into a mobile device? Can your headset still produce a sound when you play something? There are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
- Make sure that the device is properly connected to your laptop's 3.5mm jack port. Try unplugging it and plugging it back in to make sure it's properly seated.
- Make sure that your headset is connected to an audio port that supports both mic and audio functions.
- Check if Mic Access is enabled through your Operating System
- Open Settings by pressing the Windows button on your keyboard, type “Settings” then press enter.
- Click on Privacy, on the left Menu select Microphone.
- Turn ON mic access by clicking on Change button then simply slide the button to ON. If the setting is currently turned ON, toggle from OFF to ON.
- Test your device again and see if it works.
If none of these steps work, feel free to PM me with your device serial number so I can troubleshoot the issue further. All the best!
