BlackShark V3 Pro - Discord Chat output not working when starting game

Hi

I just got my Black Shark V3 Pro but I have an issue using discord. I use the - game output as standard output and - chat as default communication output device (win11) in discord.  When I try Mic test without a game running it works flawless, but as soon as I start a game I have no audio feedback. Same with the synapse mic preview.

Here is the issue, as soon as I start any game I have no audio from discord anymore when I use the -  chat audio as output device.

When I switch the output device in discord the “Razer Blacksdhark V3 Pro Certified” is suddenly works, BUT the others in discord sound distorted (probably 5.1 game audio or so) and the voice mix function is not working. It seems that only one audio output is working at the same time. Any idea how to fix that?

I am having the same problem, the virtual channels work fine when Discord is closed but when opened it only allows what ever is set in Discord to work.

I’m getting the same.  What I’ve found is that as soon as a separate app uses the game channel, the chat channel stops working.  So either everything has to use the chat channel or the game channel, but you can’t use both at the same time.  This obviously defeats the entire purpose.

Razer, is this a driver issue or a fault in the headset?  Might have to return these if this feature doesn’t work.

I have tried moving USB slot, same issue as a lot of posts on Reddit suggest this, I’ve literally tried everything from uninstalling drivers / synapse, but the issue persists.

I have the very same issue and I am on the latest firmware.

Just to add some more context on what I’ve tried since. I’m also on the latest firmware and tried numerous usb ports, validating that nothing else is on the same bus so there should be no power draw issues or contention.

This system has a fresh install of Windows 11 so there shouldn’t be any gremlins.

I have also tried other headphones including Maxwells and Steel Series and they worked just fine with the two channels, so pretty sure it’s not something funky with my configuration or anything.

I’ve tried all the suggestions I’ve found about disabling exclusive mode and other enhancements, but no luck.

I’m having this exact problem with the Game/Chat Mix on the BlackShark V3. I can’t hear anything from BlackShark V3 - Chat when there’s any audio output from BlackShark V3 - Game.

I can however briefly hear the test tone for less than 0.1 seconds on BlackShark V3 - Chat when re-adjusting its volume in the control panel and seeing on the screen there is audio output from BlackShark V3 - Chat, so I tihnk it’s very likely something to do with the software or firmware very poorly mixing Game and Chat audio.

I have also tried everything people described doing above to no avail.

I’m having the same issue with my standard V3. In my Windows Sound Playback tab I have the Default Communications Device set to Blackshark V3 (Chat) and the Default Device set to Blackshark V3 (Game). In the Recording tab I have the Default Device set to Blackshark V3 (Chat). However, when I open Discord settings, set both the Input and Output Device to Blackshark V3 (Chat) (as recommended in Synapse for game/chat mix to function correctly) and then start a Discord call, all system and call audio goes silent. As soon as I exit the call system audio comes back. I've also ensured the game/chat dial is set to the middle and not all the way to one side. The only way to avoid this is to set my Discord Input and Output Device to Blackshark V3 (Game), but then the game/chat mix dial doesn't work and simply lowers both system and call volume. Any advice? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

So I ended up trying all the USB 2.0 ports on my motherboard and luckily one of them works as expected with game/chat mix whilst running both a game and Discord. Strange that this would be the solution, but I would recommend trying each and every USB port on your system until you (hopefully) find one that works.

Very bizarre, I did this and it also immediately began working on my end in a different (and seemingly random) USB port - my case’s front USB 3.0 port. Originally, I was having this problem when it was plugged into my motherboard’s USB 3.0 port.

I can’t think of why it fixed… maybe because i was using nearly all other USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports on my motherboard at the same time, whilst my case’s USB ports were barely in use? i don’t even know, this is very strange😵‍💫😵‍💫

Hey there, @Donmanolito

I understand that you're having an audio issues with your Razer BlackShark V3 Pro.  Please try these troubleshooting steps on this link to help resolve the issue. Ensure your Razer headset is selected as the input device in-game. If you are using a 3rd-party chat application such as Discord or Skype, check if the “Push-To-Talk” setting is checked. If enabled, this setting will not allow the user to send audio without pressing a specific key/s. Ensure the microphone headset is not muted on your Razer headset’s in-line control.

If the issue persists after performing the troubleshooting steps, please send me a private message together with your device's serial number and proof of purchase in PDF format for a possible warranty claim. You can upload your proof of purchase to your Google Drive and send me the link. Make sure that the link is set the sharing settings to "Anyone with the link can view". Thank you!
