Blackshark v3 Pro dongle broken after 1.4.4 firmware update

As the title clearly states, my wireless dongle is broken after I have updated both it and the headset to the 1.4.4 firmware. Before a trolling razer rep starts asking insulting questions like “have you tried turning it on and off again?”, yes I have tried every single possible thing, including completely formatting my PC and reinstalling everything, trying the headset and dongle on many different PCs, and all other nonsensical things you could think about asking me; the headset itself works when cabled and with bluetooth, but audio via dongle is dead. I can even input commands via the wireless dongle like changing the volume and pausing videos, it’s just the audio that never gets through. You just bricked my 250€ headset with a firmware update, that’s it.

I will be returning the overpriced pieces of crap and never ever buy another razer product again.

This post is just to inform people with the same headset to NOT update to the latest firmware.

Dear Sir, I just bought the Razerblack V3 PRO today, I was afraid to upgrade the dongle and the headset but everything worked fine and they're working flawlessly.

1 - Update the dongle.

2 - Connect the headset to the computer with cable usb-c - usb-a and when the upgrade tool recognizes the headset proceed to the update, it stopped at 36% with an error but after clicking retry it finished the 100%.

3 - All the equalizers will reset and the headset needs to be paired again using Bluetooth to the mobile phone.

The only thing that isn't working is the THX/Stereo demo with Synapse 4.

Have you tried a different USB-C cable?

Hope I can help you and other users with these instructions.

Problem:
My BlackShark V3 Pro (firmware 1.4.4) suddenly had no audio on the “Game” channel via the HyperSpeed dongle. The “Chat” channel worked fine. Over USB cable, Game audio played for a few seconds and then cut out. It started after I walked too far from the dongle and the connection dropped briefly.

What I tried without success: restarting the PC and Synapse, a different USB port, a different cable, disabling Bluetooth, re-pairing the headset (Pairing Utility), the Firmware Updater (says 1.4.4 is the latest) and the Windows sound settings.

In the Windows Sound control panel, the level meter on the Game device was moving. So Windows was sending the signal correctly, the headset just wasn’t playing it.

Solution:
The Game/Chat balance was stuck inside the headset. Synapse showed the slider fully on “Game”, but the headset was apparently set to “Chat”, so Game was muted.

Fix: Open Synapse → BlackShark V3 Pro → Sound and move the Game/Chat balance slider to the middle and back. Alternatively, turn the balance wheel on the headset back and forth. Audio came back immediately, both wireless and wired.

Extra tip: If Game audio cuts out a few seconds after plugging in the cable, fully quit Synapse (right-click the tray icon → Exit) and test again.

This worked for me, and I hope it works for you too! 🎧
