blackwidow elite keyboard, lights up but won't type, i tried updating drivers, no luck

I have a Blackwidow elite keyboard about 2 years old. Stopped working all of a sudden, it will light up but when i type more than 3 characters it freezes up and won’t work or it opens random menus.  I tried updating drivers nothing to update. i tried unplugging and holding down the FN key and F9, ive tried holding down the caps and esc key.  Any help is appreciated
