Blackwidow v3 battery status | Razer Insider

so i’ve seen multiple posts about this battery issue but no solution out of warranty so ill try to ask myself.

Just a little history on my issues with this keyboard;

Jan 2022 i recieved a replacement for my old BWv3 keyboard who’s BT connection didnt work anymore.
this worked for a while, but again on this BWv3,  the BT died. i did use to switch from bt to 2.4 regularly, switching between systems. The retailer refused to replace it, honoring the original warranty period.
So i bought a USB switch, and use this to switch between systems, and this works for me, however it is annoying that a product this premium fails so often.

now onto the battery issue;

The KB is connected to a charger and using the wireless dongle to communicate with the pc. In synapse, the KB shows 100% battery. However, when i remove the cable, battery drops and KB disconnects. I’ve also seen the battery indicator sitting at 0 or 1% whilst being connected to the charger or pc. Again, disconnecting the cable drops the KB completely.

I attempted a firmware upgrade, which then again broke my wireless connection. Tried everything, from resetting the KB to the pairing utility. nothing worked. So i thought i broke it even further by updating the firmware.

Luckilly i found a post on Reddit with a way to rollback the firmware to 2.02 (run the old updater and connect the KB whilst holding the FN button). Back on the old FW, my wireless worked again!

So, my battery or charging mechanism must be broken? is there any way to fix this? Or perhaps will Razer honor a warranty period on replacement equipment. All in all i’m kind of dissappointed in the amount of issues with this KB, but i love it when it works!

Open the keyboard, disconnect and reconnect the battery connector. Press the reset button on the left side once.

It worked for me.

Finally came around to trying this, but no succes for me. While it was open, i noticed the status led blinking really weak and rapidly on BT, and bright green on 2.4. I don't have the knowledge to measure out all the components and traces on the pcb, let alone solder on replacement component, but am looking for a replacement pcb.
