Blackwidow V4 Pro: Keys release before I stop holding them | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow V4 Pro (Orange Keys). Only a few months old.

The Problem: When holding keys sometimes they “release” before I stop holding them. It is as if I tapped the key rather than pushed it and held.

Explanation: At first I noticed this happening with some FPS games I was playing where I’d be holding the “D” key to move and my character would stop moving every so often as if I released the key (even though I was still holding it down).
Now I’ve been playing some MOBAs where you need to hold a key to charge abilities and when I press and hold the “W” key about 1 out of 5 times it behaves as if I pushed and released the key rather than pushed and held.

What I’ve tried so far: Took off keycaps and blow compressed air, updated Razer Synapse, updated keyboard firmware, switched to a different USB slot.

I’d RMA it, common problem with early Orange switches batch.

Thanks @FiszPL , I will look into that.

I did some more testing and its 1-2 out of 10 times when i push and hold the W key the output is “w” rather than “wwwwwwww” as is expected.

I’m also getting key spamming with the D key. Alternating space and d this is the output: ‘d dd dd d d d d dd d dd d d d dd dd d dd”

i also tried a completed uninstall of Synapse/all Razer software and clean reinstalled. Tried reinstalling drivers too. No luck.

You can try pouring some 100% Isopropyl alcohol into the faulty key, press it rapidly few times, let it evaporate. If it’ll not help - RMA.
