BlackWidow V4 Pro Mute LED No Longer Turns Red After Synapse 4 Update

Relinquisher

Hey everyone,

After updating to the latest Razer Synapse 4, the mute LED on my BlackWidow V4 Pro no longer turns red when I mute audio.

The mute button still works, and the LED itself still lights up as part of Chroma effects — it just doesn’t switch to the red indicator when muted anymore.

This was working perfectly before the update.

What I’ve tried so far:

  • Restarted PC

  • Reinstalled Synapse 4

  • Checked firmware updates

  • Reset keyboard profile

  • Switched USB ports

No change.

Is anyone else seeing this? Feels like the update may have broken the mute indicator override.

Thanks.

Same problem. Just began this morning.

I am still able to select and change the color of the mute button, but it no longer dynamically changes to red when actually muted.

This worked for me as recently as last night, so I can only assume it was an update that installed during startup this morning.

Hey guys!

Have you tried testing the keyboard on a different computer? You might also consider performing a clean reinstallation of Razer Synapse and following the troubleshooting steps in this article. If the same problem persists, please send me a PM with your device serial number and a video showing the issue so I can look for other workarounds. All the best!
