Blade 14 2023 - Fan speed slider stuck at 17700 RPM when plugged in | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

Hi all,

The fan speed control inside balance profile manual mode in Synapse is stuck at 17700 RPM, the slider cannot be slid and the value is stuck.

Plugging in the laptop will directly max out the fan speed, which is extremely annoying for office environment.

Manually picking profiles does not decrease the fan speed. Only unplugging from power does.

Tried below steps:

  1. Reinstall Synapse
    1. “Change” in Programs and Features to call the installer
    2. Updated to latest version
    3. Issue persists, use “Uninstall” from Programs and Features
    4. Uninstalled completely via installer
    5. Re-download latest installer from Razer
    6. Reinstalled and logged in my account
    7. Issue still persists
  2. Firmware update
    1. I bought this machine in mid-Oct, upgraded Firmware since day 1.
    2. Firmware updater returns latest versions.

Please provide insights on solutions for resolving this issue, much appreciated.

Have the same issue, could you fix this?

If the Razer App seems broken, you can try going to the BIOS/UEFI and adjusting Fan speeds there.

Same Problem with synapse 3 and 4 for razer 14. Any solutionß

Same problem here. Razer Blade 15 2022, fan speed at both Synapse 3 and Synapse 4 are reporting 17700 and the slider cannot be moved. And the fans are not running at max or making much noise, which means 17700 is just a bad interpretation of the sensor speed data. There is a regression in both Synapse applications most likely. Please, revert!

I found a way to fix this issue. The problem is that sensor and other data gets stale/stuck. This requires an Embedded Controller (EC) reset. In order to do an EC reset:

  1. Unplug the laptop from AC power.
  2. Remove the T5 screws from the back to open it up.
  3. Unplug the battery.
  4. Carefully, without plugging the battery, without plugging to AC power, open the screen lid of the laptop. I recommend to put the laptop on one of its sides after opening it.
  5. Press the laptop power button. Make sure both AC power and battery remain unplugged.
  6. Wait at least 15 seconds after making sure the power button was correctly pressed. Do it a couple of times to be sure.
  7. That’s it, the EC should have been reset now.
  8. Close the laptop screen lid.
  9. Plug the battery. Double check that it is well plugged!
  10. Close the back of the laptop, and screw back the T5s.
  11. Boot, and be done.
