I bought a 2020 Blade 15 Advanced (i7 10875H, 2070S, 16GB/512GB) back in August of 2020. The battery life hasn't been great ever since the first few months of owning it, but it's just unusable at this point. At what I would consider reasonable settings in terms of brightness and processing power, I get about an hour of battery life on a full charge if I'm lucky. Since I use this for school, I've had to optimize it as much as possible and I still can't even get 3 hours of battery life with the display locked to 60hz, keyboard and logo backlight off, brightness pretty low, and CPU usage limited to 30% through the Windows power plan. Yea, 30%. I've also made sure that nothing is using the dGPU, as that would cause quite an impact. All I'm using it for right now is a few tabs in Chrome (I've tried other browsers and they all have roughly the same battery impact) running Google Docs and some other basic websites. A Windows battery report shows that the battery is still above 95% of its original capacity, and should be performing pretty decently. At this point I'm completely lost as to what to do. I am aware that I can use programs like Throttlestop, but it seems ridiculous that I should need to use a program like that just to get an hour of battery life. Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
