I'm trying to use Oculus Link with the Quest 1 for VR gaming and development. I've connected with a USB 3.0 Link Cable with a USB-C connector into the headset and a USB-A connector into the laptop. Unfortunately, I have had multiple issues with this feature.
First, upon loading oculus link, the virtual desktop feature shows only a black screen and a cursor that can be moved with the controller. With the headset off, I observed that the movements of the controller cursor were in fact happening on the laptop screen, it's just that the actual screen contents were not shown in the headset. I was able to address the problem with this solution, though it seems inelegant.
The much more concerning problem, though, is that I cannot get any oculus apps or the Unity editor to run. When I try launching an app from my Unity library, such as the Spider Man No Way Home experience, it acts like it is going to launch for a second and then kicks back to the main Oculus menu. In the Unity Editor, hitting the play button does not launch the application on the headset like I am acccustomed to on my desktop. Curiously, SteamVR works fine and I am able to launch BeatSaber through it with no issues.
Research on this topic suggests that this issue has something to do with switching between the integrated and dedicated GPUs. I have attempted this solution with no success. I have also read that using the Virtual Desktop app on Quest may be better but I would prefer to use the standard Oculus Link if at all possible.
Using this laptop with VR is a major use case for me, so I would appreciate any and all help on this issue. Thank you!
