Blade 16 (2023) Issue with trackpad

I have a fairly new Blade 16 (2023) which I noticed had some issues with “stickiness” with the trackpad, where it occasionally starts inputting random double taps and drags stuff around when I didn’t intend it to. I have updated to the latest firmware but it doesn’t seem to have resolved itself. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the HID trackpad drivers.

Overall, if the hands are bone dry after recently washing hands. Not sure if it’s placebo but putting the laptop into sleep mode and then turning it back on seems to stop the issue if it happens to be occurring at that time. The issue has become more frequent recently.

I was wondering if anyone else had a similar issue and identified a way to resolve it?

I can’t seem to edit the original post, but I’m thinking this is a software issue, as putting the laptop to sleep and then starting it again when the problem is bad seems to resolve the issue temporarily.

I’m still in the midst of testing it, but I think I have identified the problem (not really the solution I suppose).

This strange behavior doesn’t seem to occur while I am using the laptop on battery. I identified this post (https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/19cwtjq/track_pad_tracks_horrendously_only_when_plugged_in/) regarding a lenovo laptop which is displaying a much more extreme but overall similar looking trackpad issue when plugged in. Unless the same trackpad issues crop up during my time testing the trackpad on battery, I would say that there is either an issue with my power strips, charger, or some grounding features in the laptop itself.

+1 I’ve been having the same issue on my laptop.

Hey IzeIT. My laptop was still under warranty, so I sent it into Razer to see if they could repair it. They performed a repair/replacement of the trackpad and keyboard before returning the laptop, and now the laptop works perfectly! If yours is not under warranty, I believe the invoice for replacing the trackpad only was about $150 and the keyboard was about $250.

Hey @IzelT,

Can you update or uninstall your touchpad drivers by following the steps from this link? Please also send me a PM with the serial number of you laptop so I can verify it in our system and check for applicable workarounds that might address the touchpad issue.
