Alright. I have a Blade Stealth 13 (2020 I believe) and I’ve had it for 2 years. It came with Windows 10 and I upgraded to 11 home and then pro.
The past week, I have been getting frequent blue screens. The common error code was BAD_POOL_CALLER. I decided to go back to windows 10. Same issue. When trying to go back to 11, I get KERNEL_HEAP_CORRUPTION. And another IRQL error code. The bad pool caller can happen at any time, when I open firefox, when I shutdown the laptop etc.
For more context, I tried Linux Mint Cinnamon. Worked flawlessly with no errors. I just need windows for compatibility for school.
Anyways, I have updated the BIOS, reset the OS many times. I ran multiple diagnostics, windows memory diag says everything is fine. I used Blue Screen Viewer to see what’s flagging during the bsod, all 5 original instances on my current windows 10 was having errors at ntoskrnl.exe
Next, I tried driver verifier, where it was blue screening and BOOM, blue screen error page_fault_in_nonpaged_area, What Failed: Netwtw10.sys. So I figured ok, some silly windows driver update screwed over my network card. So I rolled it back to its original 2019 drivers. Everything worked well, shut down and my good friend BAD_POOL_CALLER showed up once more
I don’t know what to do. I want to avoid using Linux as much as possible. Anything helps.
