Wanted to burn some CD’s into an iTunes library so connected an external CD drive to the laptop via USB then plugged the CD drive into power. When doing that the laptop screen went black and then turned off, since then the laptop has not turned back on.

Whilst holding the power button the indication light on the front will flash white once every 10 seconds but that is it. I have tried powering on the laptop just using the battery with no power cable, also with the power cable plugged in and then with the battery disconnected and the power cable plugged in but no difference.

I have been having an ongoing issue with the battery where it doesn’t hold any charge so it has to be used with the power cable plugged in. I don’t think this new issue with related but any help would be appreciated.
