Earlier this year, we saw many people reporting on issues with the BOE minled panel on Blade16. However, Razer has not made any improvements and continues to use them for shipments. The Blade 16, which was just produced in October, is still equipped with a BOE panel and still has these problems. Horizontal stripes will appear anywhere on the panel where dark and light content meet. They are everywhere in games, videos, web pages, and design software. They cannot be used normally at all!

So far there is no workaround or firmware update, and there is no button to turn off local dimming.

Mine is shit too. Apparently their customer service is telling people that this shit display is “within expectations of mini led displays”. LMAO. For a $5,000 machine they better have some updates or do a complete recall campaign to fix these shit display modules

Return it as long as you can.

To me it is the worst display I have seen for 15 years.

I really wish I could return it. But it seems more difficult. Because I bought it in China and now I’m taking it to the UK to study. When I first purchased it, it was equipped with an AUO panel and the display effect was very good. It's just that dead pixels appeared after less than two weeks of use and were replaced. The replacement unit came with a BOE panel, which I could tell at a glance was different from the AUO panel. There are horizontal stripes wherever dark and light content alternates, including videos, web pages, and games. Almost unusable.

I am sorry to hear that.
It is a real shame to build such a bad BOE panel into otherwise such a great laptop 😔.
It is not even worth gaming on it, because the local dimming latency is also quite bad on that panel.

Razer did not publish any patch for adjusting the mini-led dimming for several months now, so it seems hopeless to me. But we should keep trying to get their support.

I bought myself a portable usb-c oled, to be able to work with the Blade 16 on the go, at least when plugged in. The built-in screen is hard to work with in any area and I only use it if I need to.
Even as a developer it is hard for me to use it.
In Areas with much text it is almost blinding me and in areas with less text it is dimming out.
That is very tiring for the eyes.

In the past razer was for gamers, by gamers. Now … I don’t know what it is.
The Blade 16 might very likely be my last razer product.

This is so outrageous. They disappeared while I was talking to Razer support. In the last email, they said they were communicating with higher-level departments, but they didn't reply to me for 5 days. Even though I keep sending them emails. This is fucking rubbish and completely irresponsible. This is my fourth Blade, and I will never buy another Razer computer in the future.

Wish I saw this thread earlier…. Same deal with support. Lotta money for a garbage display and no concrete plans to fix it.
