Bluetooth jitters/disconnects every 20 seconds on Razer Book 13

I also experience this with a Bluetooth mouse (the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed), but with a much lower frequency (maybe once per 1-2 minutes). What's more annoying to me is that the keyboard ignores some key strokes with a relatively high frequency (about 1-2 times per 100 strokes if I'm typing continuously) which might be related to this momentary but repeated drop in Bluetooth connection.

Yep, just got my Book 13 yesterday. Really sleek and solid hardware! I might have actually figured out the keyboard stroke skipping issue: it seems that the keys don't get depressed far enough to actuate if you hit the key on the corners but it still clicks, giving the impression that you hit it. I can confirm this by mashing on mostly the upper corners of keys and getting inconsistent responses. Looks like I'll have to have more precise typing habits with this keyboard... or fatter fingers!

I'm having the same problems you guys describe. I'm starting to regret ordering this laptop. I really did hope that it would be great.

Updating the Intel Bluetooth driver along with the Iris Xe driver using the Intel Driver & Support Assistant tool seems to have reduced the frequency and duration of my mouse lagging. I can see that sleekGinger005 already tried something similar and didn't see any improvement. With the updated drivers, the lag is only fractions of a second rather than 1-2 seconds, so it's far less annoying. This gives me hope that the issue can eventually be fixed. Edit: Sometimes it still lags for 1-2 seconds, but it seems far less frequent. Edit 2: With more use, the longer 1-2 second lags might still be just as frequent. It's hard to say without doing more rigourous measurements. Overall, they seem to occur less often, but I just had a period where it did the 1-2 second lag a bunch of times in quick succession.

With more usage, I'm more confident in saying that updating my drivers has reduced the frequency of the long 1-2 second Bluetooth mouse lag that I've been experiencing. I've also noticed that it only happens when I stop moving the mouse and want to resume. If I'm constantly moving the mouse (such as when playing a game like Diablo 3), I've never experienced any loss of connection or lag. It only happens when I stop moving the mouse for at least a couple of seconds and then attempt to move it again which makes me think that it has something to do with Bluetooth device power management.

On consulting with a friend who also seems to have a similar issue "waking" a Logitech mouse on a Surface Pro 7, it could be that what I'm seeing is just what happens with newer versions of Bluetooth. I didn't have this issue on my older Surface Pro 4 with this same mouse (Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed), but that has Bluetooth 4.0 whereas the Book 13 has 5.1 and the Surface Pro 7 has 5.0. Hopefully, these observations give some insight into why this is happening. Edit: Using my Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed in 2.4 GHz mode does not have this issue, thus is seems to be specific to the Bluetooth connection.

I think it makes sense. I use the Logitech MX Master 3 and it has the same issue. Maybe it has something to do with BLE? Don't get me wrong, I think this is unacceptable but it may have nothing to do with Razer in this case..

Hi, Did this work for you? The fix above and driver updates have not fixed the issue so far. I have the same issue and external mouse and keyboard are almost unusable at the moment. It does seem to be a sleep/wake issue relating to bluetooth, I get the hanging with every bluetooth mouse I've used (four so far), but without a fix it makes it makes laptop almost unusable for my work set up.

I've managed to my specific issue by rolling back to an earlier graphics driver. This seems to have resolved the issues I was having with using any dock I tried and any set of peripherals which had the hanging issue. So not bluetooth in my case, but with all the hallmarks of bluetooth issues.
