Boost: Clean RAM

In synapse there is the option to boost your device. One of the boxes is Clean RAM. Will this delete everything? I need to know because its my work computer I would like to run it on. We use GIS systems and lately my work computer has been laggy running these application. I figured if its good enough for gaming its good enough for GIS programs, but I wanted a clear idea of what it was getting rid of before I pulled the trigger and ran boost with Clean RAM selected.
