I bought a Razer Barracuda X headset yesterday. As soon as it arrived, I tested it with all the connection options (dongle, bluetooth, 3.5 cable) on my Windows PC, all fine, super happy with the device. I connected it with the USB-A to USB-C cable to my laptop, and went to bed to let it fully charge. I saw the blinking red light, so I assumed everything was fine.
This morning, not even 12hs later, I attempted to turn on the headset to connect it to my iPhone and, surprise, it won’t turn on. I tried connecting it to my laptop with the USB cable again, no lights. I tried using the 3.5 cable and, for some reason I still cannot comprehend, the audio it’s extremely distorted both output and input. Before someone tells me to update the firmware: I can’t, because the tool requires the headset to turn on and, as I previously mentioned, I cannot do that.
I know my computer is not the problem because I have a Corsair headset that is working perfectly both with USB and 3.5.
Anyone else experienced this? is there a button combination to “hard reset” the headset, or any way to “jumpstart” a charge? I’m at a loss here, it was working perfectly when it arrived and I did nothing to it except letting it charge for like 6hs (which shouldn’t be a problem). I’m in Argentina so if I would like to try troubleshooting before going through the replacement process.
