Brand new mouse turns off after 3 seconds of powering on

I have had this Razer Trinity mouse for about 2 weeks now and has been great until today. I've tried all the USB ports, reinstalled synapse and have no idea what could be the issue. I wouldnt pronounce it dead because it turns on for 3 seconds right when I connect it to any USB, then it turns off completely and nothing gets registered. It's still in perfect condition and no sort of trauma has ever happened to the mouse.

    Update: still have this problem but if I do the hardware reset it stays on for like 5 secs longer. Think it's safe to say there is no fix?

    Update: Razer support told me the product is defective and that i would have to return to amazon for them to send me a brand new one.
