- Assign the analog button 08 to joystick down (Y+)
- Assign d-pad down to a keyboard alphanumeric letter A

- When pressing d-pad down instead of the letter A, d-pad down is output

[BUG] (Tartarus Pro) D-pad not customizable when joystick axis is assigned to analog key
The cross key is the most important one. Without the W A S D on that cross, Tartarus is just garbage to me.
Same here, the keyboard functions I assign to the d pad do not stick. I did factory reset and they work initially right after re-mapping them but then stop after a few seconds.
Same - after the update was pushed down my Tartarus Pro d-pad is no longer being recognized as an input in any game I load up. Steps I have taken to try and correct the issue:
- I unplugged and replugged the controIler.
- I rebooted.
- I ran the repair function across all Razer software.
- I rebooted again.
- I uninstalled and reinstalled Synapse.
- I swapped one Tartarus Pro for a second Tartarus Pro I have.
- I attempted to remap the keypad.
- I swapped from 4-Direction to 8-Direction.
- I rebooted the computer again.
As mentioned by OP, none of this has corrected the issue.
Let’s see if this helps any. I couldn’t get my d-pad to respond to the keyboard shortcuts I put in but it had worked right before configured for 4-way. I did this and now it works again like I want. I changed it to 8-way then went and put my shortcuts in the up, down, left and right (like a 4-way pad). Then I disabled the other 4 angles. It works again this way. In Battlefield 2042 all the d-pad would do is look around while in 4-way mode until I changed this. This latest razer update must have done something to it.
I have the same issue as of this morning. Was working fine yesterday. Now the DPad is effectively nonfunctional in ALL my games! Really unhappy with this!
I’ve had a reply about this problem from Razer, just says the usual uninstall, clean, reinstall etc. I honestly don’t think this will resolve it as too many have the same problem.
Razer need to look HERE as well if indeed they do look at our responses.
They’re making the same mistake as Logitech G Hub where as there is no way of installing a working Synapse 4 with out it automatically updating to a new bugged one. There should be an option in Synapse for auto updates and it should be off by default.
Got it working by disabling all the joystick, and controller and just setting the keymap 1 only for the 8-way. Pain in the rear … but it a work around :)

yep this starting happening to me just this morning after a forced update
I have 2 Tartarus Pro, so checked both, and both D-pads do not work,
tried changing profiles and nothing not even the default mapped keys will work for the D-pad
So….
Another impacted user, where is the customer service, could at least reach out and acknowledge the issue

I am making a new keymap using a copy of the Default Keymap 1,
and at this moment, the d-pad is typing out WASD,
so maybe if I remake all my profiles?

I did that, but it didn't work for me.
so i tried synapse 3. it works.

Confirmed,
if I keymap only the D-Pad to keyboard function it works,
but once I change any other default key to a keyboard function,
the d-pad stops working
I quickly tried Synapse 3 but couldn’t see a way of linking games but I was that pissed off I may have missed it.
They need to fix this fast!
I’m just trying remap the keys I need that used to work on the Dpad.
give us a roll back on this update
and the ability to manually roll back ourselves from now on
I am disabled and this tool allows me to avoid pain
it is an accessibility tool for me
