I’ve got a Razer Blade 14 and I’m finally getting around to applying the 2023 firmware update for USB4/battery optimization.  I’ve followed the instructions for disabling the trackpad and NVIDIA in Device Manager. . I’m running Windows 11.  I even found a post recommending running the AMD chip updater and successfully did that.   Windows Hello is removed, drive is fully decrypted, all the stuff the install guide said to do.

When I run the firmware update, it brings up the update window, but the only button I can press is cancel and it tells me “Detected components are up-to-date.  I restarted and manually checked the BIOS version and it is clearly not up-to-date.  Pulling my hair out and can’t figure out what could be keeping the update from running.  Any help appreciated.

Have you tried flashing the BIOS? Maybe doing a fresh Windows install? Seems really wierd.

I can’t update the bios either, it’s like it doesn’t recognise my laptop, I’ve also tried fresh install of w10 and w11

Does razer even bother helping? Really considering never purchasing any razer products ever again. This level of “support” is shameful.

I can run the installer, but the message in the installer says “This firmware tool is for use only with Razer Blade 14 and compatible system. The application will now close.” Last time i checked, it’s a Razer Blade 14… let me check again… yeah. Same laptop i’ve been using since 2022… RAZER SUPPORT!?!? COME ON!?!

This is extremely frustrating, I’ve spent many hours on something that should take ~1h. Here is what I tried so far:

  1. Booting from official Windows 11 ISO downloaded from Microsoft

Doesn’t work because the installer is missing SSD (?) drivers and unable to detect any drives. It doesn’t look like there is a solution for this, there are no drivers on Razer’s website.

  1. Using recovery “image” from Razer

I’ve downloaded a recovery image from Razer’s website, which is not really an image, it’s just a zip archive with a bunch of files. I’ve followed instructions on the official youtube video:

  • Formatted drive as NTFS
  • Copied files from the archive to the drive

Seeing the same issue. RAZER needs to respond with a fix. This severely limits the hardware. I have a Core X too and all I want to do is use it on this laptop
