CefSharp.BrowserSubprocess.exe - Is it really needed?

Trying to figure if CefSharp.BrowserSubprocess.exe is really needed. Seems to create multiple copies of itself in Task Manager, and not finding any information as to what it is supposed to do other than hog up resources.
