Question

central channel is missing in nommo v2

I just got my nommo v2 today.

When I want to watch a movie, the central channel, where all the voices are, is being suppressed. When I switch to stereo or THX in synapse, I can hear the voices for a second, but it immediately suppresses them again.

this is very disappointing. I can’t find the setting in synapse to solve this.
Please, support, help me. Otherwise this is a pretty useless, expensive setup that will be returned.

I have exactly the same problem. The only way I found to get THX working is to download their THX app. Problem is it costs $$ and I would much rather the original solution I paid for worked!! I went through to tech support, and they were pretty useless. When I said that THX App fixes it, they just closed my ticket!!

not really, what fixed it for me, after discussion with their support, is to
right click the speaker icon on your taskbar. go to sounds. playback tab, right click your Nommo speakers and goto properties. Go to the Enhancement tabs. Put a checkmark at disable all enhancements.

Did that work for you?

Hey there,

When I right click on the speaker, I get two options: Volume Mixer and Sound Settings. If I got to sound settings right clicking on the speaker doesnt do anything. Are you talking about going to the device manger panel?

thanks!

Or do you mean the audio enhancement tabs and deselecting the THX enhancement?

If so, that just turns it into Stereo??

that’s odd, when I click the speaker icon in the taskbar I get this:

and what you need to disable looks like this:

Those are not the same properties you get from the device manager!

If you don’t see this perhaps you’ll need to reinstall the realtek audio driver (from the device manager/sound, video and game controllers),

or try this to find the same menu:
left click windows icon in the bottom right of the taskbar, and type settings. Go to Sound, scroll down to related settings and find the Sound Control panel, then the tab with playback devices, right click the Nommo V2 speakers and click on properties.

Thanks so much, will try that!

OK, tried it. All that does is turn it back to Stereo. By disabling all effects, it turns off THX. You can see that all audio enhancements are odd in the sound property panel for the device. To get THX going you have to enable “Device Default Effects”. As soon as you do that, the Centre channel disappears in thin air. No dialog in ghost of Tsushima and other channels missing in COD. Strangely, their paid for version doesn’t have the same problem, Is a fault on their side with drivers or configuration.

Hi all,

I finally managed to solve the problem without having to disable the audio enhancements of windows.

I uninstalled all the razer software and then manually removed the drivers from windows 11 "device manager"

In particular those marked in red.

I reinstalled all the software and now both VLC and the game Ghost of Tsushima reproduce the center audio channel perfectly.

Obviously when you uninstall the software the drivers are no longer visible in the window above, so to see and remove them, you must select the display of "hidden" drivers too.

I used Synapse 4.

If it helps, to avoid having strange drivers left in the computer, I followed to the letter the clean uninstall that RAZER suggests for Synapse 4.

Since I had also tried Synapse 3, I also followed the clean uninstall of Synapse 3, where you are asked to manually delete some RAZER folders from C:\

How to re-install Razer Synapse on Windows

After that I manually deleted the above mentioned drivers from Device Manager.

It is very important that the NOMMO V2 is always disconnected, both during the uninstallation of the drivers and during the installation of Synapse 4. Once everything is uninstalled and installed, you can connect the NOMMO V2's USB cable and you will have to wait for the automatic installation of the THX drivers.

I warn you that I had to do a lot of testing to find this solution

Best regards

Ivan

EVERYONE I FOUND A FIX!!!!!

right hear me out, i have spent the last 2 days (got them yesterday spent all day and all day today) figuring this out, tried every single solution, the obvious fix was disable enhancements which YES worked BUT disabled thx, tried windows sonic and yes worked BUT it wasn't native THX so sounded crap, tried THX app which just sounded rubbish, ive tried the whole uninstall fresh install delete thx drivers roll back to synapse 3 you name it ive been racking my brains all day UNTIL i had a would this work moment

so i stream here and there and on my gaming pc i use ELGATO SOUND CAPTURE to capture pc audio and send it to the output of my choosing, typically my elgato capture card in my dedicated streaming and my headphones since i cant send video and audio via obs while hearing the game through headphones

RIGHT SO THIS IS THE FIX!

download elgato sound capture, setup your razer nommo pro v2 how you like within razer synapse, enable sound capture THEN select ADVANCED and then select the nommo pro v2, i tested this in bfv training ground where the old timey record player would disappear with just razer but would then reappear with the output set to SOUNDCAPTURE but within sound capture set to the nommo pro v2

i tested this with spotify since there was a distinct difference between stereo and thx and can confirm the eq within razer still works, it'll ask to set the nommo as default but you only need to do this to set the spatial preference, with SOUNDCAPTURE as default it'll still let you diddle with the eq in razer BUT you'll get all the missing channels and that sweet crisp detail and full thx spatial!!!
