Confirmed Bug with Barracuda X (2022) | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
I have tested this across multiple Barracuda X (2022) headsets as well as multiple different PC's. Feel free to try it out yourself if you have the same headset.

To replicate the bug:

1) Connect the headset to a PC using the 2.4GHz dongle.

2) Connect to the same PC via Bluetooth (the light on your headset should become sort of green-blue).

3) Now set the speakers/output device to Razer Barracuda X 2.4 (not Razer Barracuda X BT).

4) Play a youtube video, pause it and then try to unpause it. Very soon you'll find that you actually cannot unpause the video at all.

This situation isn't all that uncommon, because the headset automatically connects via Bluetooth to any device it has paired before. So if your laptop's Bluetooth is turned on and the dongle is also plugged in, it will connect to both simultaneously. Now, if you set the speakers/output device to Razer Barracuda X BT the issue goes away, but given a choice of using the Hyperspeed 2.4GHz connection or Bluetooth connection, why would one choose the latter?

The bug is most likely something to do with the Avrcp Transport drivers, where trying to unpause the video is sending the same signal twice (once via dongle, once via BT) to the same PC, causing it to instantly pause again.

If any Razer support staff sees this post, please pass it onto the Technical Escalation Team. Thanks.
