Connect late 2019 Razer Blade Stealth 13 to external monitor

New to Razer and new to the forum! What is the best and easiest way to connect my Razer to an external monitor? Currently I'm using an HDMI to USB-C adapter which seems to work fine but I get intermittent dropouts where the monitor disconnects. I'm trying to use the monitor as #2 for gaming and the laptop as the main for whatever else. Try to set the Razer display as the main and the external as the secondary but just does not seem to cooperate. Bad cord? Bad adapter? Any help is appreciated!
