Core x chroma only connects whenever it wants to

I've got a fairly new Core x chroma with a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 Windforce 2X 8GB Video Card. On Win 10. If I switch the Core on, it connects, sometimes. Sometimes I need a restart with the thing on. Sometimes I need to switch the cable to the other thunderbolt port for it to work. And sometimes, like now, I can restart the laptop, switch the core off and on again, do whatever, and nothign makes it work. If I open the thunderbolt Control Center, the device is listed, it sya its connected, but nothing happens. Is there maybe some program that I can luanch to make the machine actively look for and connect with the egpu? Just hoping it will connect is just pointless.
