Core X on Dell Precision laptop (not recognising Core at all) | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
Hi All,

Im really struggling to get the Core X working on my Dell Precison 7530. Despite seeing that some people have sucesfully done this (and also installed it to the dock, which I also have)

Spoke to Razer support and went into the Command prompt to search for errors (non returned)

Situation is as follows:

When I plug in the Thunderbolt cable, the CARD powers up (fans start spinning) BUT the fan on the Razer unit itself stays stationary, when I unplug the Thunderbolt cable, the power to the unit dies

When I plug the Thuderbolt cable in, I get the noise to signify a new device has been connected, but not other pop ups. If i go into device manager, there is a Thunderbolt connection (15EB) but no mention of the Razer unit itself. If I plug in my dock, it shoes in the Thunderbolt manager. When I plug in the Core, nothing comes up in this

I have been in to the BIOS and changed Thunderbolt settings to NO SECURITY, so its not an issue with permissions. The Dell BIOS however does have a number of other THunderbolt / GPU settinsgs, so not sure if something is missing there

I would also point out that i have no software installed for the Core itself (I have the graphics driver installed for the card in it a Gigabyte 2070 Super) the link for the software from the manual is dead on the website.

I have installed every driver that was out of date, and still no joy.

So im wondering if there are more settings in the BIOS i need to address OR, could it be that the card isnt correctly powered ? The card itself has 6 connectors, and the core itself has 8 (4/2 x 2) is it possible to get these the wrong way around ?
You need synapse 2 to be installed, that I am pretty shure of...
