Core X V2 detected by Synapse but GPU not connecting

I just received a Core X V2 and configured it with a RM 1000  power supply and  RTX 5080 graphics card. This is connected to the Thunderbolt 4 port on my ThinkPad laptop. Using Synapse I can connect to the Core X but the graphics card is not recognized in Device Manager. I have watched every troubleshooting video with no improvement. When I try to install the NVidia driver it aborts saying no NVidia card detected. The ThinkPad has an Intel card. What I have tried:

  1. reinstalling the GPU card and all connectors.
  2. Updating the Thunderbolt driver.
  3. Rebooting the system with the Core X powered and not powered

I have spent over an hour with Razer chat support with no resolution. Any other suggestions? Thanks

Hi Guelph,

If Razer Synapse detects the Razer Core X V2 chassis, but Windows Device Manager does not show the RTX 5080, your Thunderbolt 4 controller is successfully communicating with the enclosure dock, but the PCIe bridge/GPU isn't initializing. This is usually due to an incomplete driver installation, physical seating issues, or a pending BIOS update. Allow me to give you device’s specific steps.
