DeathAdder 3.5G lighting issue

I've got a DeathAdder 3.5G left-hand mouse and I'm running v.2.21 software and I cannot get the lights on the mouse to turn off. I need to use my mouse in a virtually dark environment and cannot because of the blinding lights. Any suggestions?
