Deathadder Essential - cursor jumping & unable to reach support. | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

My Razer Deathadder Essential is just under a year old and I’m experiencing issues with the cursor jumping.

I have tried everything from both https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1981/~/how-to-resolve-issues-when-a-razer-mouse-cursor-has-erratic-movements & https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4135/, except for the calibration (not applicable for the Deathadder Essential) and updating the firmware, as the firmware updater is telling me to plug in the mouse, which it is (Synapse is also recognising the mouse, so it’s not a connection issue)

I have now spent several hours in the Razer Assist queue for live chat support, only to get to my turn and receive the message “There are no agents available to chat with you right now. Please try again later.” Live chat appears to be my only option for contacting Razer for me (I am located in Australia, meaning support for me is located in Singapore).

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hey mate,

I’ve had similar issues in the past. I can’t say exactly what you need to do and trust me when I say I understand how frustrating this can be. Let’s try narrowing down exactly what’s wrong.

First of all, try using your mouse on a different device, and try use a different mouse on your computer. If you are having these issues on a laptop try unplugging the mouse and seeing if the trackpad does the same thing. This will tell us if the issue is either mouse side or computer side.

IF MOUSE WORKS ON ANOTHER COMPUTER:

This means the issue isn’t to do with your deathadders hardware. This can seriously annoying to diagnose or super simple. At some point from your mouse moving to the cursor being displayed there is a software bug. I like to troubleshoot from the mouse to screen like this:

start at the mouse, inspect it to make sure the sensor is clean. Follow the cord and make sure the cord isn’t damaged. Then check the usb connector for any visable damage. check your usb port to see if it is clogged up. Then start the software side, specifically drivers. Go to device manager->mice and other pointing devices, and make sure the mouse is there. Uninstall the drivers, unplug the mouse, and download the correct drivers from the razer support. After you have installed the drivers, then plug the mouse back in.

Let me know how you go with this!
