Deathadder V2 X Hyperspeed cursor issues

RazerRazerMouse

The mouse is working (all buttons) but the cursor is not working. The mouse is only 6 months old. This is my second Razer mouse that has issues (is for sure my last).

What is going on. I tried to reinstall the driver, changed the battery, nothing. Looks like the laser is dead.

Really disappointed by Razer products. I’ll go with logitech that I use on my tower and they work without any issue for 5 years now.

Did this topic help you find an answer to your question?

Did you try unplugging the mouse and cleaning the mouse lens using a Q-Tip with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol and letting it dry for 5 minutes before plugging it back into your PC? Try plugging it into another USB port and computer should the issue persists. You may also reset the device by going to Razer Synapse 3.0’s settings, then selecting the DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed from the list and resetting it. Refer to this article too. Let me know how it went.

Thanks for your answer. I’ll try what you suggest but cannot now as quite busy and just need a mouse to work. So I took my old 10$ wireless mouse that still works well enough for what I have to do now.

Will update my results here if I still haven’t thrown the Razer mouse out the window.

Cheers

I had the exact same issue and did the exact same procedures mentioned still doesn’t work

I have a DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed since June 2022. When I first got it, it was so jittery it nearly went back to the shop. Then I found this:
How to fix any Razer mouse! | Fix Lag, freezing, Shutting Down, & Synapse on Razer mice! (Tutorial) - YouTube
It was working like a dream until the weekend, then it just stopped moving, but the buttons worked. I reseated it and rebooted and it came back, but now it is jittery again, and I am still trying to resolve. Have cleaned mouse mat and sensor (four times!). So maybe Synapse did some background update? I’ve done a clean install now, which hasn’t helped.

Of the original fixes, changing the polling rate to 500hz seemed to be the biggest improvement, although would have thought an i7-11800h could keep up, but that is still set to 500hz
Disabling the services also helped,  however currently looking at what I have running after a fresh install they don’t match the ones in the video. I can’t remember if they did last year or if the ones in the vid are for Synapse 2.
With power management if you switch to view by connection type you can select all the USB controllers/devices in the chain above the mouse. I’ve reset all of these to disable power management again.

Only thing I’ve not yet tried is a reset, the calibration never seemed to resolve anything!

I have the same problem and I couldn't find any solution. What a coincidence that the product gave me the same error after 6 months.

I have the same issue. First time I tried all the steps mention above and it didn’t work. So i send it back to Razer for warranty claim. Come back with a new Razer mouse in a new box.

Then 6 months down the road. Same thing happen again. I am going to send back to Razer for second time warranty claim.

Totally lost my confidence with Razer.

Both my Logitech and Steelseries can easily lasted me 5 years of usage. This Razer Deathadder V2X that I having now already gave me headache and it is less than 2 years of usage.

Just bought the mouse today. Plugged it in, installed synapse 3 and didn’t work at all. Sometimes it would show the mouse in the synapse but still won’t work. When plugged in the cursor just slowly moves by itself

I'm from Brazil! I bought this mouse on Aliexpress 10 months ago and amazingly, I'm having the same problem. I tried all the steps mentioned above and it didn't work. I have the wired version and I've never had a problem. i' will probably buy a new logitech wireless.

Same problem.

Worst mouse ever.

I don't recommend it to anyone.

Same problem. I was very happy with my mouse until 2 days ago when the cursor started freezing and then stopped working. Buttons still work. Battery is new and I already tried cleaning it, reinstalling drivers and all, but the laser just is not working. So sad this happened, only had it for 10 months. I don’t know if I trust Razer devices.

dexter_aymane

Same here Unbelievable.

How come everybody have this issue in masses ? For the past 1 month. I keep my Mouse clean and everything and was not expecting it to die like this. I sure am thinking that it’s more software than a hardware issue. Razer didnt even released any update for Razer deathadder v2 x Hyperspeed.. still it’s somehow not working properly right now out of nowhere. The sensor is completely gone.

Exact same thing happened with me today. Sad to see my mouse be dead like this. I don't even have a spare one at the moment!!

Starting yesterday, the tracking speed dropped off a cliff. Going to try the solution above but I am not amused.

Razer can you please release a firmware update, it’s the least you can do for your customers especially those who live in countries where you can’t ship replacements.

All your mouses have a firmware update, why not this one.

AlloyOrangelinktechno556

Same issue with the Razer hyper speed. The rgb light on the chroma mat also stopped working. The only Razer item I bought still working is the computer chair.

no wonder the mouse and keyboard are on offer at Takashimaya and listed on grab reward exchange shop.

last Razer product I will buy.

I don't know if my problem is like yours guys but its been probably 1 year I have this mouse, and now its keeps connecting and disconnecting again and again when i plug in the usb. I’ve used all of the propositions above but its still not working, and the razer synapse is so laggy btw. Changing batteries, mode of connection, and all of these things does not work, I just think I’ll leave it away and by myself a Logitech, my friend had his for more than 3 years and still had no issues.

Yea, this is ridiculous. My mouse laser on my deathadder v2 hyperspeed wireless also just died out of nowhere. I haven’t even had it that long. Wtf is this kind of quality control. I’m never buying a Razer product ever again. This is the last straw.

Garbage quality.

sharpbaseCyanAzure217

So since today I have the same issue.

after i needed to replace the battery the mouse became irresponsive. Buttons and scroll wheel still work, it’s just the tracking.

i did a little investigation and have the following to share:

plugging it into my laptop, not installing synapse yet, it shows the mouse works fine.

So my best guess for all of you: it’s not a hardware issue.

what could it be? Synapse? I uninstalled all Razer software and my mouse was recognized as “generic” by Windows. Still the issue persisted.

This reminded me, that Windows has this funny tendency to create a new profile for USB hardware at times whenever it gets plugged in. Since we need to keep replacing batteries once it dies, i suspect it might be a Windows registry issue instead.

trying to get into the registry without a mouse is hard to do, so I’m still not successful at the time of writing. I will update you all if I succeed.

hang in there. It might be a Windows problem, not necessarily a Razer issue. But it would be nice if these mice get a charging option so we can plug in with USB and a rechargeable battery and not worry about this registry thing again

I returned my original for a replacement in the end, as happened inside warranty period. New one never had the same jitteriness out the box and so far no issues 🤞.

Not sure if this topic is relevant anymore but disabling dynamic lighting in windows personalization settings fixed the cursor skipping for me.
