Hey Insiders,
I'm reaching out to you guys (and maybe support is reading along) because I’m out of ideas and also need to vent a bit of disappointment regarding the quality of my gear.
I received two Razer devices as Christmas gifts about two years ago, and unfortunately, both have serious issues:
-
DeathAdder V2 Pro: The side buttons do not work – and probably never have. I always assumed there just wasn't a profile assigned in Synapse. I recently actually wanted to map and use them, which is how I finally realized they are defective. I’ve tried everything: reinstalled Synapse, tested the mouse completely without the software, reset the profiles, and even assigned a standard left-click to the side buttons just to test them – completely dead. On top of that, the wireless charging was a total flop. After just a few months, the contact pins on the charging dock stopped connecting to the mouse.
-
Huntsman V2: The volume wheel is broken. I can still spin it physically just fine, but it does absolutely nothing. Instead, the keyboard acts like a ghost and slowly turns the volume down on its own, creeping lower and lower over the course of hours or days.
I am well aware that after two years, I am out of warranty. And yes, I know I should have claimed the warranty right away back then. But since they were gifts, I honestly just didn't want to deal with the whole RMA hassle at the time. My mistake.
My question to you: Do you have any secret tips? Is there any hard reset for the mouse or some trick (maybe cleaning tips) for the keyboard's volume wheel that I can still try?
If not, I have to be honest: I am extremely disappointed. I had the original DeathAdder 15 years ago and absolutely loved it. I was super hyped to finally use the V2 Pro Wireless. But having such quality control issues on two premium devices is really bitter, and it unfortunately means that these will be my last Razer products.
Anyway, thanks in advance for reading and for any tips you might have up your sleeve!
Best regards,
_Promi
