Did I recieve a fake product? | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

Recently (arrived today) I bought a Razer branded mouse (Supposedly the Deathadder Chroma) and after many failed attempts at getting Synapse to recognize the thing (install, reinstall, delete driver, fail to download drivers; still says HID compliant in device manager, Razer Synapse does not even see the device at all rendering me unable to even change the DPI)

I came to the conclusion even looking at the blurry print on the box and that my RGB suddenly switches back to red color without any ease like it does with other colors, that I might’ve gotten scammed…

I’m sorry if this gets asked a lot on this forum but as this is my first Razer device I tried buying (albeit not directly from razer.com) I’m a bit disappointed...

I wanted to get in contact with Razer Support but it requires my Serial Number which upon entering told me that it is “unable to locate in the system” which is just a big red flag…

Some attachments that could hopefully help recognize if the product is (most likely) fake or not:

Hi WeeHen,

Unfortunately, the serial on your device is not in our database.  I suggest you take advantage of your warranty since we cannot remove the device from the previous account. Please note that purchasing products from non-authorized dealers can often result in the use of counterfeit, re-boxed, defective, or gray market goods. You can visit this link: https://www.razer.com/store-finder to check the nearest stores where you can buy genuine Razer products. Stay safe!
