Is the blue Opus an older version? I thought I saw on a review sight that the black was an updated version with Bluetooth 5.0? Is this correct or is the only difference just the color? Answers much appreciated.

Yes. The classic black has BT 5.0, while the older version (midnight blue) has BT 4.2.

Thank you. Is the noise canceling also improved (that's one of my main reasons for purchasing these, since they'll be used for traveling and noise isolation while working in cafes) on the black version or any other differences I should be aware of? Thanks again.

There are some minor improvements on both the active noise cancelling and the mics, but the main improvements are on BT 5.0 and the battery life from up to 25 hours of playback with ANC to up to 32 hours.
