I recently have come across a problem with my left thumbstick where it centres immediately on left right and down but when moving up it seems to think I'm slowly pulling it back but when they are centred there isn't any deadzone issues

Have you checked for gunk in the stick?
If you have and.tgere nothing there might just need to get a replacement stick and that should help
