Goliathus is way too dim, even on the brightest setting

I think the Goliathus is a good quality mat, but the brightness on it is WAY too low. The colors are easily washed out with any kind of ambient lighting. I chose pure blue as my color (R:0, G:0, B:255) and the edge of the mat closest to me looks very light blue. I think the issue has to do with the fiber optic strip that goes around the edge. If I place my hand below the top left corner, and compare that by doing the same to the bottom right corner, I can see a considerable difference in brightness. I tried taking a picture of it, but my camera can't pick up the difference in brightness.



Does anyone else have this issue?
