Got a laptop with combo jack but blackshark v2 x microphone is not working

As the title suggests I got a blackshark v2 x a while ago and for the first few days I think I remember the mic working but now the mute button wont work as if the laptop isn't recognising the headset. I have confirmed that I have a trrs 3.5mm jack input on the laptop but it still wont work. When I connect my headset to my laptop realtek audio console pops up and all I can choose is if it is headphones, mic or speaker so I don't know if it is a problem on realteks fault. Can anyone help me with this?

Your problem is simple enough to solve. If you are buying new headphones for a laptop and do not want to get into the gap - pay attention to the headphones' plug. For the headset jack, there should be 4 contacts on it, If there are 3 contacts on the headphones, then they are for the usual (and familiar to everyone) audio input. Personally, I used to do this https://productz.com/en/steelseries-siberia-200/p/lJo2 so my headphones fit. I advise you to use it. I hope this will help you.

And if you select "headset" - nothing happens? Mic still not working? Maybe it's disabled in the Realtek app, or you can just try to download the newest audio drivers (with realtek app included) and install the newest one - it should revert all custom audio settings to default.
