Great Marketing, Poor Reality: My BlackShark V2 Pro Mic is driving me crazy

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out to see if anyone else is experiencing this frustrating issue with the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro microphone.

My microphone input volume keeps decreasing by itself. I set it to 100% in Razer Synapse, but after a few minutes, it automatically slides back down to much lower levels. This makes me almost inaudible to my friends during games or calls.

I bought this headset mainly because of the marketing. The advertisements heavily praised the microphone as "broadcast-quality" and one of the best in the market. However, my experience has been the opposite.

  • Constant Volume Drops: The system won't let me keep my mic at a fixed level.

  • Poor Sensitivity: Sometimes I need to speak a bit more quietly (especially at night), but the mic fails to pick up my voice entirely. My friends constantly complain that they can't hear me or that I sound "far away."

What I’ve tried so far:

  • Disabled "Auto Sensitivity" in Razer Synapse.

  • Disabled "Allow applications to take exclusive control" in Windows Sound Settings.

  • Set "Windows Communications activity" to "Do nothing."

  • Turned off "Automatic Gain Control" on Discord/Steam.

  • Updated to the latest firmware.

None of these steps fixed the issue. It’s very disappointing for a "Pro" level headset to struggle with basic microphone stability.

Has anyone found a permanent fix for this? Is this a known Synapse bug or a hardware defect?

System Info:

  • Headset: Razer BlackShark V2 Pro 2023

  • OS: Windows 11

  • Synapse Version: Latest

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
