I have hammerhead hyperspeed for PS. Last night I went to update the firmware via https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/13180
The firmware updater failed to complete, stopped at about 50% and showed me this error message (now this message appears whenever I open the updater):

and prompted me to replug the dongle and re-open the case, then remove the left earbud and leave the right one in. Then it completed (and now when I repeat the process it says the firmware is updated).
My guess is that the first time something went wrong at around 50% right when the right earbud was about to be updated, and got bricked. Now only the left one (the one I was prompted to remove from the case) works.

I did everything as outlined in the update guide, using a Windows PC with constant power draw, the case was sitting open right next to the dongle …
